Description: A specialty coffee café founded by the creator of the now-closed Lorem Ipsum Listening Bar, located inside a community sustainability hub with an industrial-style interior, bar seating, comfortable lounge furniture, and an outdoor patio with a fire pit. The menu features espresso drinks, draft lattes, pastries, and savory toasts, with housemade syrups and ingredients sourced from local food-rescue programs and on-site gardens. Drawing on its founder's listening bar background, the café incorporates a music-focused concept centered on curated sounds and DJ culture. Its indoor and outdoor gathering spaces provide a relaxed setting for coffee, conversation, and community activities.
Comments: This space used to be Change Please Coffee, which was great primarily because the Innovation Barn, the building this coffee shop is in, is awesome. But in terms of interior decor, Change Please Coffee had good seating. And/Or Cafe has great seating.
It’s way cozier now, including single-sided booths with padded backs and bottoms, a cool circular booth setup thing, high-top tables and chairs, and even a pair of lounge chairs with a coffee table when you first walk in. They’ve made the space far cozier than it was before and easier to sit in for a while given all the padded seating. There’s even a nook with a couch, some board games, and plants sitting on 2 little tables, with a half wall behind it so you’re shielded from the rest of the store. Top-tier spot to read a book.
The outdoor seating is even better than the indoor seating. Rocking chairs, tables, canopies, and a view of Uptown’s skyline if you sit in the right section. I’ve fallen asleep on a rocking chair here reading a book on a warm fall day. It’s that comfortable. And it’s never really too busy. Sometimes there are groups visiting the Innovation Barn, but the coffee shop has its own corner that always feels chill.
It’s a lovely space, the whole thing, and I’m glad they’ve kept a coffee shop as part of it, especially one that’s done exceptionally well at keeping the vibes warm and inviting. I don’t drink coffee, so I don’t know if it’s good or bad here, but they have herbal teas that I liked.
