Description: A four-acre woodland garden near SouthPark, developed as a family legacy and sanctuary for contemplation, meditation, and peace. Winding paths move through mature trees and layered plantings alongside a spring-fed creek, waterfalls, koi ponds, bridges, benches, and large-scale art installations including a labyrinth, Moon Gate, stone Hive, and ruins. Individuals and small groups can visit without an appointment during posted hours, while larger groups, events, and portrait sessions require advance arrangements.

Comments: It’s all in the name, a place of serenity, peace, tranquility. A garden with walking trails and art pieces in various corners as well as seating here and there. I can’t imagine a better place to read a book, or silently meditate, or pray, or just walk around and decompress after a long day.

Maybe Rosie’s Coffee & Wine Garden is similar but this is a step ahead in the peace and quiet direction because the location is more secluded and there’s no retail aspect. There’s nothing to buy here. No staff or attendants, just a community garden gifted by a very generous woman who wants it to be a place of refuge for Charlotte locals. Excellent place to have a heart to heart chat, or a date, so many corners where you can sit and just be alone with nature.

Parking is free on the streets around the garden. There’s two entrances with parking, just depends on where Google or Apple Maps takes you, either way it’s not hard to find. There’s a lot of trees so even on hot days the entire garden area and trails are covered in shade. It’s not near a main road so it does get truly quiet and peaceful. There’s a pretty mini waterfall and bridges going over small creeks and just so much picturesque stuff. What a wonderful third place.
