Description: A nonprofit literary arts center with a flexible studio used for creative-writing classes, author readings, community conversations, workshops, social gatherings, and quiet member work sessions. The Open Studio environment is intentionally quiet or quiet-ish, with instrumental music, low-volume conversation, varied seating areas, snacks, and beverages, but no phone calls or online meetings when others are present. Membership gives writers scheduled opportunities to read and work in community, while a higher membership level provides weekday coworking access. Many public literary events remain open beyond the membership community, making the space useful both as a writing workspace and as a gathering point for readers and writers.
Comments: Part of the definition of a third place is "little to no financial barrier to entry". The yearly membership is a barrier here, but it's $75 for the whole year, so it's not a significant one for many people, hence this listing.
