La La Land Kind Cafe

Description: A TikTok-famous specialty coffee shop and cafe opening soon in South End. Known for an all-white interior accented with pops of yellow, their locations are designed to feel warm and intentional. The menu features signature iced lattes like the La La Latte with vanilla and "la la cloud," a Banana Cloud Latte made with fresh bananas, and a Matcha Squared with double ceremonial matcha. Avocado toasts and a truffle burrata toast round out the food side.

The Dallas-based chain operates 25+ locations across Texas, California, Arizona, and Tennessee, and this will be its first in North Carolina. La La Land is tied to the La La Land Foundation, a nonprofit that supports foster youth through mentorship and paid employment.

Comments: La La Land Kind Cafe is taking over Bitty & Beau's Charlotte location, which closed on March 22nd, 2026. For those who knew that spot, that means you already know the parking situation. Paid street parking right in front, but if you're willing to walk, a free lot and garage at nearby at Atherton Mill.

The space is a medium-sized with a covered outdoor patio. If they keep that patio, this will be a solid hangout spot. Two purpose-driven coffee shops in the same space back-to-back, interestingly enough. Bitty & Beau's hired people with disabilities, and La La Land hires foster youth aging out of the care system.

This is La La Land's first location on the East Coast outside of Nashville. They are enormous on TikTok (6+ million followers) thanks to their "Drive-By Kindness" series where they hand out free drinks to strangers. The whole brand leans into yellow as a color and a vibe. Their about page says it best: "Yellow means warmth. Yellow means kindness."

No opening date announced yet. The Charlotte Business Journal broke the lease news on April 1, and Hoodline picked it up the same week. Should be a spot worth checking out once its open!
