Description: Independent coffee shop located inside PostScript in Charlotte’s Plaza Shamrock neighborhood. The space features a narrow, intimate layout with table seating, bar seating, warm wood finishes, dark walls, vintage mirrors, tile floors, and a moody café atmosphere. Offers coffee drinks in a restaurant setting with a quieter, tucked-away feel compared to larger open coffee shops. Free parking is available in the lot outside.
Comments: I almost didn’t list this on the site because I don’t want y’all to go, tell all your friends, make a TikTok, and then suddenly it’s packed, sweaty, and impossible to find parking, even though they do have a free lot. But I committed to sharing info on good third places through this site, and I felt guilty not listing it because that wouldn’t be fair to the business. Just, please, be chill. Like you don't have to tell your entire friend group everything. Share this spot just with the 1-2 you really like, the S-tier friends.
Anyways, this is inside the restaurant PostScript, but it has its own side of the building. It's a long, moody hallway with table seating along one side and bar seating along the other. It's small, but they use every inch of the space well to provide seating. The room has a tucked-away feeling to it, with dark green walls, warm wood, old tile floors, globe lights, red curtains, a bunch of ornate mirrors, and a bar that makes it feel kind of like a European café hiding inside an old neighborhood restaurant. That's a very long way of saying it's not some cookie cutter aesthetic sort of place.
There’s some history in the space too. PostScript took over the building that was the restaurant Letty's which closed in 2025 after the owner retired. Dyad also has its own story, having spent the past few years as a pop-up inside other businesses before this became its dedicated location. So, the whole setup feels like a passing of the torch. A longtime neighborhood restaurant space becomes something new, and a coffee pop-up finally gets a home of its own.
The music they play here is really good. Soulful jazz, funk, R&B, sometimes some Americana. One of the few places I don't wear noise cancelling headphones so I can enjoy the ambience.
