Description: A small, pink, photo-friendly, Black-woman owned coffee shop inside an engraved and permanent jewelry studio in South End. The menu centers on coffee and matcha drinks, with a boutique-like setting that works well for friend dates, quick daytime visits, content stops, and jewelry appointments. Visitors can walk in during café hours or book appointments for welded or clasped jewelry, charms, chains, and same-day engraving. Expect a cute, upbeat, highly styled, unapologetically feminine space.

Comments: Check out this excellent YouTube walkthrough of the place to get the full rundown. It really does look like it could’ve been a set for the Barbie movie. They proudly market themselves as the “Girliest Coffee in Charlotte,” and I’d say that’s accurate. No doubt about it. Glowgirl is 2 things in 1 space. Glowgirl is the jewelry store, and Glowgirl Cafe is the coffee shop. The whole place is pink, playful, feminine, and very much committed to the theme.

The owner, Jorgie Cooper, is a St. Louis native who moved to Charlotte in 2018 to work at Wells Fargo. She worked there for 6 years before eventually creating the jewelry company and then the cafe. She loves pink and feels it’s the best of all colors, which makes complete sense once you see the space.

I also love the St. Louis connection because I spent 6 years in St. Louis for undergrad and my master’s. I loved my time there so much and was so embraced by the community that I consider it home more than anywhere else on earth. Glowgirl is of course open to everyone, but Jorgie isn’t shy about it being curated for ladies to feel welcome, seen, and loved!
