Hex Coffee

Description: Stylish coffee bar offering pour-overs, cold brew & espresso, tea, food, and baked goods.

Comments: It's giving hipster warehouse millennial core. Come with your man buns, thrifted denim jackets, skinny jeans, Chelsea boots, and a playlist full of Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend (Big Blue is one of my all-time favorites), and Arcade Fire.

The "Hex" in the name isn't a witchy thing, it refers to the hexagon shape of a hornet’s nest, which is a nod to Charlotte’s “Hornet’s Nest” nickname. So, calm down Evangelicals and Catholics, you can patronize this place and keep your conscious clear (I am devoutly Christian, albeit free of any denomination, so I get to make that joke).

This is in Camp North End, which is a huge plus in terms of location. Parking is free, there's a gravel lot out back, another lot on the far end by Tipsy Pickle, and street parking. Please don't pay for parking here, it's free. Anyways, they have some real fancy named teas and they’re all incredible. If you get it “for here”, they give you a nice cup and this fancy kettle pot thing to pour it from.

The food here is good, they give you a lot of it for the price. It’s not small, cute coffee shop meals. It's a full restaurant style plate of food. The Hex Special is my go-to, lots of food to justify the high price. Oh, and they have orange flavored cinnamon rolls sometimes 🔥💯.

Lots of windows, gives the place a bright and energetic feel. Excellent access to outlets as well. Great music playlist (if you're a millennial, or older Gen Z such as myself), good vibes. Awesome day trip for remote workers, Camp North End has a lot to explore. Start at Hex, walk around after work and explore. Solid day.
