Summit Coffee | Eastover

Description: A locally owned neighborhood coffee shop serving freshly roasted coffee, espresso drinks, tea, seasonal beverages, and pastries in a warm, relaxed setting. One of Summit Coffee’s larger cafés, the Eastover location features abundant indoor seating with two-, four-, and six-person tables, plus an outdoor patio with umbrella-covered tables. The bright interior pairs large windows, wood furnishings, and colorful accents with a family- and kid-friendly atmosphere, while an attached lot provides free parking.

Comments: On a road that has a lot of third places, this seems to be a favorite. Every day of the week its packed with friends meeting, remote workers, students, business looking people having meetings, everything. And they have the space for it. It's not a huge building but they put seating in every corner while still managing to make the place look aesthetically pleasing.

Great place to work remotely as it's filled with natural light, has excellent outlet access, and plenty of two-person tables you can camp out at while larger groups can take the bigger tables. I enjoy coming here in the mornings before the crowd, claiming a window spot, and working while watching cars go by on the very busy road out front. The parking lot is small, but you can park on the adjacent street for free, you just might have to walk.

There are book clubs that meet here, including a silent one where you just sip and read in the company of other people, which I love as a concept. It's hard these days with our phones setting aside time to just read and disconnect. Doing something solo with a bunch of other people? That's a wonderful idea and a great way to use a third place!
