Description: A large downtown public library and the headquarters of the Cabarrus County Library system, offering books, audiobooks, movies, digital resources, public computers, internet access, local-history materials, and community programming.
Comments: I love libraries. I didn't love this one. For a building so large, there's hardly anywhere to sit. And the book selection is rather limited. Now, what's great about this place is its location. As in, its proximity to other places that are better to hang out at. Downtown Concord has a lot, just check the map!
And to keep it 💯, a lot of people from Concord say this library feels more like a homeless shelter to them. I mean, they don't really bother anyone, but they're present throughout, so worth calling out. The kids' section is upstairs though and very clearly set up so that if you're not walking in with kids, it's like why are you up here, which I think is good design.
